Several and many months later..... I finished the first of my dolls? LOL (ok, ok, quit laughing....)

The "plan" such as it was, has also changed..... next up is Robin (a 70cm BJD) and then La Reine, and then a Xena/Gab set... mebbe..... LOL

WELL! - I don't read the news much - and when I do - I either get disgusted with all of the extreme idiocy or depressed over all the pain that I can't fix...

1st... (of course) is HOW DARE YOU - YOU SORRY *blank blank blank and MY but I have a store of invective blankety blankety... OH yeah....

2nd is - good for YOU for alerting the news services!

3rd is back to how DARE you! - and what's next huh? - I voted and voted and signed and signed to try to stop the whole 'gay marriage' chaos - I mean - gimme a break - why WOULDN'T you let two consenting adults marry? - what POSSBILE harm does it do you? - back off you idiots!

4th - well - let's think 'logically' huh? - he did this because...

1) "inter-racial marriages don't last" - YOU........

Yeah? neither do 'teen' marriages - we need to raise the marriageable age to....? what? 25? 30? Oh - but WAIT! - a female's most 'child productive' years come young! - mebbe a teenage WOMAN is ok, but only if she's marrying an older man? - how old? How much should the gap be? - let's get the law-makers on it and pick an average age gap! - male must be at least 40, but not over 55 - females must be at least 18, but not over 25 - YES! - let's legislate the perfect marriage into place!

Wait - 'she's pregnant, we have to get married' - THOSE don't last either! If you're pregnant, you shouldn't be ALLOWED to get married! Wait! wait wait, Pregnancy, child birth, babies, and small children are ALL causes of severe stress to a marriage! - NO children allowed! - All children must be born out of wed-lock and given to the state to raise....... (well, they OBVIOUSLY know best!)

Wait.... you can't get married across class lines either! Blue collar to white collar? - not allowed, sorry! Marry within your own income level! - and make sure you legislate what the income gap can BE!

Oh - but wait - there needs to be a TEST! - yes, that'll fix it! - you both have to take a test that will be evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist and he has to give his official, learned and indisputable opinion that you're a 'good match' and will REMAIN a 'good match' throughout your lives... (heh, good luck with THAT one! - people grow and change - they can grow closer, they can grow apart and there's NO WAY TO BLOODY TELL which it's gonna be!)

2) "for their potential future children"......

OH - so.... single parents are BAD! - cannot possibly raise a child on their own! - the father or mother of said deprived children MUST re-marry immediately! We'll legislate that too shall we? - If you have a child, you must have a man or woman sitting in the wings ready to marry you before you are oh so graciously granted a divorce... - that'll work! Oh - he beats you? nobody else wants you? you have a child? - you have to STAY with abusive fuck until you can replace him with somebody else (or you're killed, of course...) - OH - she cheated on you? - sorry, you have a kid, you have to stay married.... What do you MEAN she abuses the child? - she's your wife, beat her into submission! You've 'grown apart'? - tough - there's a kid. You made the wrong choice? - you have to live with it... Oh WAIT - one of you died? - you have a child? - WELL then, you have 60 (or 30, or ten) days to remarry or you'll be found in contempt.....

See - I KNEW this was gonna happen - it's the whole 'give them an inch' thing. Let them legislate the sex of your partner and they'll say "COOL!! Done deal! Next step!!" annnnnnd the 'next step' had just reared it's ugly head.

Uh uh - keep your laws off my bod - it's not your decision I'm afraid!

Awwww! - Looky what *I* got!

That would be my brand new 8 week old black lab puppy! (yes, she really is that big, she's gonna be HUGE!)

We named her Kitsala, and she's just adorable (well, of course, puppy's ARE.....) and just scary well behaved! - She doesn't sneak, she's potty trained, she only chews on her toys.... she's just... an amazing little critter!

She's also got a nose on her like you wouldn't believe! Luckily she really DOES 'retrieve' and is willing to bring any found treasures to me!

I figured out an actual 'schedule' - or - at least, something vaguely resembling one. Maybe. If most things work or don't argue TOO much and, ya know, depending on how stubborn I am.. (well, that's a gimme... *grin*)

The plan IS:
July: Erin Bride
Aug: Bodyguard Assassin
Sept/Oct: Eowyn in 1:6
Nov: La Reine
Dec: and probably into March of 2010 a Xena/Gab set based on Fan fic.

We shall see.....

(wish me luck?)

On the bright side... I HAVE figured out the (amazingly argumentative) pattern for the bride's gown, and I expect to have at least the top 1/2 of the embroidery done today... hopefully ALL of the embroidery, but we shall see... *grin*

and THAT my dears, was sarcasm and lots of it!

We had us an ice storm. We were *supposed* to get about 5" of snow, instead we got about 2-3" of freezing rain.

Well, pretty in detail mebbe, if you like broken promises...

Clearing some of the broken branches I managed to pull a couple misc broken, well, ok, logs, that were trapped in the tangle onto my poor and foolish head... the headache wasn't bad, no where *near* migraine level, but the nausea really sucked and, ya know, the bruises are still sore...

We lost power Friday afternoon - we got it back about an hour ago - at least it wasn't *that* cold? LOL - right around freezing for most of the weekend, so a propane heater kept us comfy, (today, of course, is 60ish heh) we had a propane camp stove so we could 'cook' (for some definition of cook at any rate) - and my house is always covered in candles ANYway so that was no big deal - being without the computer was on the painful side though! LOL (as I sit here with over 100 unanswered emails.... **whimper**)

All the ice is melted now, and we're starting to get the broken branches gathered and chopped and burned.... **sigh** - one of the trees isn't going to recover, I just know it's not - the other's will all have to be pruned to balance them back out - is not gonna be a very shady summer!

Ok - next update will be a completed amazon! - WOOT! (she'd be done *now*, but I need working lights to paint!)

Been awhile since I've posted pics - but it's been a case of 'except for's'...

This is done EXCEPT FOR the whatever... type deal...

Anyway... bodice, belt and skirt except for... (*grin*) the metal work!

The cups aren't attached to the bodice yet either and the scarf IS done, I just didn't feel like futzing with it for the pic... I's a bad person!

Oh yeah, and just 'cause you wouldn't think so... the loopy strands hanging from her belt? - probably the hardest thing to figure out and construct I've ever done... (seriously!)

Now... I DO realize that whoever created this has way way WAY too much time on their hands... but... verra cool none-the-less!

The spider stalks the mouse. You can click on either the spider bod or a particular leg and drag him. If you hit the space bar it will add insects wherever your mouse is, and the spider will ignore the mouse in favor of food... - it's just... VERY very well done! LOL

(once upon a time I was gifted with a tarantula as a house warming gift - he and my cat didn't actually get along too well, so I couldn't keep him - but... I DO love spiders!)

We met the most amazing man today...

"Our" lawyer - he's going to be handling the probate...

He's JUST a doll. He's at LEAST an octogenarian, and just... amazing.

But just... how do I put this? - heh - the BEST person I've met since I moved to KS. Seriously - I think I'm in love here. With a lawyer! *grin*

Lily's doing ok, a little wobbly if she thinks about it, but - hey - she's 15, and just - 'doesn't'.

Grant's...... extremely delicate. He's Very Big on hiding - if he could FIND a cave, he'd be in it. I'm trying to walk a line between letting him heal as he wishes and trying to keep him from encysting the pain - is... tricky.

I lost my dad much too early to KNOW how he feels - but hubby has no anchor now, and is NOT used to 'free sailing'.

heh - I's gonna go think about our amazing find in attorney's some more! *grin* (hey, he not only knew our name was dutch but could SPELL it!! - HAH)
