Grrrrrr....
Ok - who HASN'T done this?
You're getting dressed for an event (school, work, going out, whatever) - you have a 'solid' outfit in mind - you wanna do this and this and this and wear this bit and this other bit and it'll be PERFECT!
And then it's not.
You end up with multiple bits that you'd planned to wear laying strewn about and bits you had no intention of wearing ending up as part of your outfit - not to mention the IMMENSE chaos caused by having to find those unplanned bits at the last minute....
Sometimes you end up with a 'better than planned' outfit - sometimes not.
Is the same with dolls! LOL - 'course, having to MAKE the bits first tends to be just a tad more frustrating? LOL
FROM the beginning....
I made a pattern for a friend - I had to try it out in SOME fabric to make sure it actually worked - so I grabbed some green stretch velvet.
Got asked to make a 'sandal tutorial' - I've cut out the green velvet, might as well make sandals to match.... thin green ribbon and some gold beads... cool!
SO - as long as I've got the gown cut out and the sandals made... might as well sew it up huh? - Actually finish a doll? trim, trim, needs trim - ok - found some! - gold silver copper stuff that I've never found a use for... - cool - s'works - I like it - but.... the sleeves need to be lined - cut out some green satin and some muted gold crinkle stuff so I could see which worked better - and a gold scarf, as long as I'm at it... the green satin works great if I don't use the scarf, the gold is REQUIRED if I use the (gold) scarf. The scarf is great and necessary and I love the way the gown looks now but.....
The sandals don't match.
**sigh**
