Hee!
WELL - I'm still not Sarena, but I'm really *really* proud of these suckers!

They're not completely finished - hubby's making me toggle buttons for them - but I had to take pics anyway!

*grin*

Heh - whaddaya mean *again*? LOL (well, ok, I guess Vicki counts... *grin*)

Yup - 70cm BJD boy - and MY isn't he a PITA??

He will, eventually, I hope, mebbe, have two outfits... and I AM gonna re-do his face and shade the bod - but then he's history!!!

The boots are for a Robin Goodfellow look... *grin*

The ONE good thing about this guy is the amount of room I have to play with!

Hugs!

BJD = "Ball Jointed Doll" - the latest rage in dolls....

I find them annoying, never have been a fan of joints of any type - but.. 99 our of 100 (or, perhaps, 999 out of 1,000) doll aficianados will tell you they're wonderful... *grin*

Victoria Victrix was a BJD:
http://www.dolls-n-daggers.com/Dolls/OOAKvicki.php

Most if not quite all of them do the 'anime' look to one extent or another - another reason they're not in my top 10 - and another reason why they ARE in the top 10 for the rest of the world... LOL

I'm weird?

Hugs!

The Green Man sounds fascinating! But I'm still waiting for a Pirate Queen series - Belit, Anne Bonny, Mary Read and, of course, Captain Elizabeth Swann!

Those are exquisite! How many inches tall are they? How tall is the lucky doll who gets to wear them?

HEE! - thank you thank you!

The boots are about 7" high, and the doll is 28"! - (big sucker - GREAT big sucker!

I'm going to ATTEMPT a pair semi-sorta like this for a 1:4 scale, but I have no idea if it's actually going to work... LOL

Hugs!

Great job! Leather is not my favorite material to work with. But I do use it to make boots, shoes and purses when necessary.

Do you have boot patterns for the 16" Trent and Matt dolls for sale? I may need one soon.

I wasn't a fan of the BJD's either until I saw the repaint Cheryl did on a Sybarite. Now if I had the money I would have a Sybarite. I don't like the joints especially when costuming them but I do love how you can pose them for pictures!

Does your hubby make swords to sell? I'm always looking for them for costumes I make.

The old 12" GI Joe's had some good prop pieces that would work with Trent and Matt in a pinch, but I haven't seen 12" GI Joe's in the stores for at least 4 years. And to buy pieces on eBay are usually not bad for the piece itself it's the shipping that so many sellers are now gouging customers on.

Can't wait to see him finished!

Those are terrific! One of these days, after I am back home, I will try working with leather, but I haven't gotten up the courage yet.

Way WAY COOL there Lady!

I absolutely love how those boots look! Love the layered effect of the different colored leather. The green leaves are perfect!

He's 28" tall? That's like the length of my leg (ok, yeah... I'm not very tall, but still that's darn near 1/2 my height!)

Oh he's HUGE!! - Barbie only comes to his mid-thigh!! LOL

It does give me tons and tons of room to work in though - I'd hate having to try these boots in 1:6! (although I have EVERY intention of doing so! LOL)

Awesome work... I've admired your stuff for a long time. I have to say in defence of BJD (why yes, I am an addict;) that there are some that are not completely derived from anime in terms of style.. although those are the majority, there are some really beautiful realistic sculpts out there these days.
